The firm prides itself on the extent to which senior team members are engaged
on a daily basis with the media and our clients. Those individuals include:
Christian Pinkston
Christian founded the Pinkston Group in 2001 with a focus on influencing policy
makers, opinion leaders, and the general public through the media. He has
counseled and represented a variety of personalities and organizations through
periods of growth, crisis, reorganization and transition as well as company and
product launches.
With more than 15 years of experience working with the media, Christian has
developed relationships with the country's foremost reporters, editors and
publications. Christian has placed clients in print and broadcast forums
including the Today Show, Meet the Press, Larry King Live, the Washington
Post, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and many others.
Prior to founding the Pinkston Group, Christian served as Vice President of
Public Policy in the Washington, D.C. office of Ogilvy Public Relations.
Christian served for more than five years as executive director and
communications director at Empower America, one of Washington’s most
respected and influential political institutions. He served as director of
communications for a national political campaign and has been spokesman for
two former Cabinet officials. Prior to that, he served on the staffs of a California
Congressman and a U.S. Senator from Maine.
Sean McCabe
Sean is based in Boston MA and is lead media strategist for the Pinkston
Group. Prior to joining the Pinkston Group, Sean was a vice president at CRC
public relations in Alexandria, VA. During his 10 years at CRC, Sean's clients
included AT&T, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, AgustaWestland Inc. and the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Sean also designed and
implemented the media strategy for a number of books, helping more than 15
of them become New York Times Best-Sellers.
In 2005, Sean was a key member of the communications team managing the
media strategy and campaign to confirm U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice
John Roberts and Justice Alito. Mr. McCabe's efforts on the campaign led to an
invitation to the White House.
Derek Sarley
Derek, based in Austin TX, has been with the Pinkston Group since 2002. As
the primary writer for many of the firm's projects, Derek has written op-eds,
articles and white papers that have been published in numerous outlets across
the country. He also assisted Steve Forbes in the writing of the inside-the-
beltway thriller: Flat Tax Revolution: Using a Postcard to Abolish the IRS.
He offers extensive experience in media relations and crisis communications
for corporations, non-profit organizations, foundations and associations. At the
Pinkston Group, Derek has developed and implemented public relations
campaigns for a variety of clients, including Covad Communications,
LexisNexis, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the
global power company, AES.
David Fouse
David brings to the Pinkston Group a background in business development and
client management with extensive experience in the publishing and advertising
fields. In his position at the Pinkston Group, he has developed and
implemented public relations campaigns for The Medical Institute, Central
Union Mission and Physicians for Reform and has been a key member of the
team on additional projects. David has secured coverage in print and broadcast
outlets including Washington Post, International Herald Tribune, Christian
Science Monitor, National Public Radio and more.
Prior to joining the Pinkston Group, David spent twelve years as president of
TFG & Associates, Inc., a multi-million dollar, full service business consulting
and sales development company. While with TFG, David managed programs
that included coalition development, special product marketing, sponsorship
development, sales program development and more. David has published a
book on sales program implementation that has been sold worldwide.
