Media Relations Professional

The Pinkston Group is currently accepting resumes for a media relations professional. Our clients include major corporations, industry associations and some right-leaning causes. Our office culture is fast-paced and collaborative.

The ideal candidate has experience pitching the media for political and/or corporate entities. We try to approach client challenges individually, avoiding cookie-cutter plans or other ready-made solutions, so applicants should be flexible, creative and driven. Applicants must be able to manage multiple assignments within tight timeframes. Adaptable, entrepreneurial individuals with broad skill sets do well here. Excellent writing skills are highly valued.

College students in their junior year or higher who are studying communications, political science, journalism or similar majors are encouraged to apply for an internship with the Pinkston Group.

Internships are available in the spring (February to May), summer (June to August) and fall (September to November) - exact dates are flexible. Full and part time opportunities are available. Course credit is available upon request. Please note, all interns must live and work in the Northern Virginia area. The Pinkston Group does not provide housing.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are a must. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel is necessary. The ability to prioritize tasks and focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and to show good judgment are also required. Interns should have an interest in politics, communications and current events.
